Description of Services:
Competitive Research – Purchased several competitive products and evaluated function with complete tear downs.
Concept Developement – Brainstormed with client on potential solutions for making cold brew in less than 20 minutes. Evaluated pit falls of competitive products and created a plan to solve for outstanding problems. Created 2D sketches and created rough CAD and 3D prints to prove out initial concepts.
Engineering – Used initial ID surfacing to create functional CAD in SolidWorks. Created and evaluated several magnet spinner designs to ensure proper coffee mixing and saturation. Designed seal methods for filter basket and lid. Designed features for open / close states on twist lid. Designed filter basket with removable bottom and handle.
Prototyping – Created multiple filter basket and magnet spinner prototypes to determine optimal coffee quality. Prototype modifications included filter pore size, filter depth and width, distance from the magnetic spinner, magnetic spinner profile and magnetic strength, and magnetic spinner speed.
Results – New sales and placement at Walmart, Williams-Sonoma, Kohl’s, Dillard’s, and Amazon
